If you’re feeling frustrated by the challenges of life and you’re finding it hard to stay hopeful…
I want you to know I’ve been there, too.
When I first read the book of Habakkuk, I was in awe of how relatable it is for our world today. Habakkuk faces confusion and dismay at the sin and injustices in his community, and he desperately wants God to do something. While God’s answer was not what Habakkuk hoped, it was more than enough to build his faith, hope, and trust in the Lord. Whether you’re in a season of waiting, dealing with uncertainty, or navigating pain and suffering, I pray that the book of Habakkuk will encourage you as it has encouraged me.

YOU’RE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT, BUT THINGS DON’T SEEM TO BE TURNING OUT HOW YOU WANT.

A PEEK INSIDE
the Modules
Introduction
The first week of the Habakkuk study walks you through background information on the book, introducing the prophet, historical context, and key themes. Taking time to study introductory information is crucial since it helps you discover the situation Habakkuk lived within so that you can better understand the book and apply it faithfully to your modern situation.

“How Long, O Lord?”
This week addresses the questions we all often ask: How long do I have to wait until you hear and answer my prayers? Just like Habakkuk, we often find ourselves in situations where we feel our prayers are unanswered, and we wonder if God is truly listening. The study explores how Habakkuk shared his frustrations with God, asking why injustice seems to prevail and why it feels like God is silent while Habakkuk and his people are in need. The study also highlights how God’s response is not always what we want but it is always a beautiful expression of God’s character and love for his people.

“Wisdom in the Woes”
In Week 3, we dive into the “wisdom in the woes,” where we examine five powerful declarations of judgment against the wicked. As we study these “woes,” we’ll discover that they not only reveal God’s justice but also his sovereignty over all the powers of the world. Through this week’s study, you’ll learn that even though the rulers of this world seem strong and powerful, God is the one who is truly sovereign over world affairs.
